Creating an App Integration for SSO in Okta

    If you choose to use Okta as your identity provider while using single sign on, follow this guide to ensure the correct settings for your app integration or refer to Okta's Create SAML app integrations documentation.

    Setting up the Own OIN App

    To set up the Own OIN app integration:

    1. Open the Okta application.
    2. Navigate to the Applications page.
    3. Click Browse App Catalogue.
    4. In the search bar, enter "Own" and select the Own app. The Add App page will open:
    5. Name the app and click Done.
    6. Click Sign-On Options. Scroll down to the Settings → Sign on methods → SAML 2.0 section.
    7. Click More details.
    8. Copy the Issuer value.
    9. Download the Signing Certificate.
    NOTE: The certificate will be downloaded as a .cert file. Change its extension to a .pem file before uploading it in the Own Data Platform.
    1. Enter these values in the corresponding fields in the Own Data Platform and click Next.
      It may take a few minutes to verify your settings.
    2. Once your settings are verified, the IdP Parameters will be displayed.
    3. Back in Okta, in the Settings section, click Edit in the top right.
    4. Enter the IdP Parameters from the Own Data Platform in the corresponding fields in the Advanced Sign-on Settings section.
    5. Click Finish.

    Setting up Own as an Okta AIW App

    If you prefer to set up the app integration as an Okta AIW App:

    1. Open the Okta application.
    2. Navigate to the Applications page.
    3. Click Create App Integration.
    4. Select SAML 2.0 and click Next.
    5. Enter an App name and click Next.
    6. In the Single sign-on URL field, enter any URL (it will be replaced with the correct parameter later on).
    7. Enter the same value in the Audience URI (SP Entity ID) field.
    8. Click Next.
    9. Select the Feedback option that applies to you and click Finish. The Sign On page for the newly created App Integration will open automatically.
    10. On the right of the page, click View SAML setup instructions.
    11. In the page that opens, you will find the values you need for SSO Setup.
    12. Enter these values in the corresponding fields in the Own Data Platform and click Next.
      It may take a few minutes to verify your settings.
    13. Once your settings are verified, the IdP Parameters will be displayed.
    14. In the Okta application, open the General page of the App Integration you created.
    15. In the SAML Settings section, click Edit.
    16. Click Next.
    17. Enter the IdP Parameters from the Own Data Platform in the corresponding fields.
    18. In the Name ID format dropdown, select EmailAddress.
    19. In the Application username, select Email.
    20. Click Next.
    21. Click Finish.
